Rick Slocum

Rick Slocum joined HMC as Chief Investment Officer in March 2017. Previously, Mr. Slocum served as chief investment officer of a family office in New York where he was responsible for building the portfolio, the investment team, and developing an asset allocation framework.

Prior to the family office, Mr. Slocum was responsible for portfolio management and private equity at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and worked as a Senior Director in the University of Pennsylvania’s Office of Investments.

Mr. Slocum also worked for three different banks in New York over 20 years, primarily as a private placement specialist. He structured private credit and private equity deals, and also performed fundamental analysis in both credit and equity.

Mr. Slocum holds a BS and MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently a member of Chatham House and serves on the Rockefeller Foundation’s Investment Committee.
