about Rob Cherry
Rob Cherry is a mission-driven nonprofit leader with more than 20 years of experience in organizational leadership, strategic partnerships, and social impact. As Chief Executive Officer of Partner4Work, Rob leads 50+ employees in an organization with a $30 million budget, implements and delivers strategic objectives of a high-performing board, and drives programmatic innovation to support individuals, including adults, dislocated workers, youth, and special populations, in the quest for meaningful career opportunities and advancement.
Since joining the organization in 2021, Rob leads a complex ecosystem of businesses, funders, policymakers, and partners to provide the funding, expertise, and opportunities to drive a thriving workforce in the Pittsburgh region. Rob is a regular speaker on workforce development and currently serves on a number of local and national boards and committees.
Prior to the Chief Executive Officer role at Partner4Work, Rob was the Appointed Deputy Secretary for the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, where he oversaw and managed four state bureaus, led 2,500 employees, and managed a budget of nearly $6 billion.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Rob lives in Pittsburgh with his family.
